9 weeks...

I cannot believe its already been 9 weeks! Time is just literally flying by. I feel like I am always busy, so I guess thats why. Deakon is doing much better with spitting up. I'm sure if its the meds or if its because he is growing. But either way, its better. We have a cold going around our house, so he is a bit stuffy. Poor baby. =( We took him to the doctor for his 2 month check up and he weighed 10 pounds 8 ounces, 21 1/2 half inches long, and his head 15 inches!! He did get 5 shots combined into 3, and 1 oral vaccine. My little munchkin is growing up on us!!

8 weeks and sono....

We had our sono done and he does not have the stomach hardening at the opening of his stomach that they thought he did....thank goodness!! He did reflux 3 times during the exam. The sono tech said that our Dr. should have the report by the end of today, and will contact us with the results. They gave him a paci after he ate to help the food digest and help him swallow more often, and it seemed to help and really soothe him. So, we may have to have a paci for this baby. I've never used a paci before with any of my kids, so this will be a new experience!! We go back next week for his 2 month check up. The prevacid pills seem like they are helping a litle bit. The spitting up is not AS bad. Its not as projectile. Hopefully, it will do the trick after it gets in his system good. I can't believe how big he is getting, it just blows my mind that he has gained almost 4 pounds already! Deakon will be 2 months old next week! AHHHHHHH!!!!

Update on Farren: The school called this morning to let me know that she was sick. She is congested, glands are swollen, coughing, and running a fever. My last two weeks have been FILLED with doctors appointments, so we are adding one more today for her at 11:15. Then we have her 2nd ortho appointment at 3:00 today. Hopefully, we can get through Thursday and Friday without any appointments. =)
Update on Farren: She has an ear infection and a sinus infection. No school till Friday! She was a little upset she has to miss her volleyball game tomorrow, but needs to get better. We are starting meds this afternoon, so hopefully she will be well by the weekend.

7 weeks and another appt....

Deakon is already 7 weeks old. We had another appointment today for his reflux, to follow up on the medicine he started. He weighed 10 pounds 3 ounces!!! Woah, apparently, spitting up is NOT hindering his gaining weight one bit!! Thank goodness! The medicine they started him on is not working, so the doctor added Prevacid to his regimen along with the Zantac. We are also scheduled for a sono and reflux exam at Cooks Childrens Hospital next tuesday. We are getting lots of smiles these days...and he is sleeping pretty good. He gets up around 2 and then around 5 like clockwork every night. He hates sleeping on his back because of the reflux, so usually its on the belly or on mommys belly. We are wearing size 1 diapers now and newborn clothes!! Some of the 0-3 months is fitting him too. All in all he is growing like a weed.

Keagan we have found out is allergic to ants or mosquitos...not sure which one bit her. But she blisters up in tiny little bubbles all around the bite, and the skin knots up and hardens there. Its horrible. So, we had to get some special cream to clear up the bites when ever she gets one. Other than that, she is doing wonderful and loving as ever!!

Farren had a dental appointment, and they referred us to orthodontist to see if she needs braces for crowding. She doesn't have much room in her mouth, and well....we went to the Ortho, and she is getting braces!! We are so lucky to have my sister be in the same field. She recently won a FREE pair of braces at a seminar, and is letting Farren use it. How freaking awesome is that>??????? FREE braces!! We are going to be saving alot of money....Thank you sister!!!!!

Anyways....we have been bombarded with appointments lately, so I have been a slacker on updating. =)

6 weeks and the Farm....

So, I'm a major slacker. I have had a lot going on lately and well, I'm just behind. Deakon is 6 weeks old already. It just blows my mind. We took him to the doctor last week because we have had some issues with throwing up, not spitting up, throwing up. Projectile. Craziness. They started him on Zantac, and so far, nothing. He is gaining weight though, he weighed in at 8 pounds 10 ounces. Woohoo!!! We went to the farm over the holiday weekend too and had a wonderful time with family. The kiddos love it down there. And so does mommy, its like a mini vacation. My cell phone doesn't work down there and theres alot of family who love to help with the kids. Here are a few pics!!!

5 weeks, and 1 month check up

1 month old....tear.
Deakon is weighing in at 8 pounds 10 ounces and measuring 21 inches long! Mommys milk is working! He is spitting up alot so they are trying him on a medicine, bethanechol, to see if that will help. If not, they will be doing an upper GI in two weeks. Hopefully, the medicine will do the trick. I'm short on time, so I will leave you with some pictures. Have a great week!
