10 weeks....

At this point of your pregnancy, the crown-to-rump length of your developing baby is 1.25 to 1.68 inches. It is now easier to tell how much the baby weighs since he is beginning to put on some weight. Your baby weighs approximately 5 grams and is the size of a small plum! The baby has grown an incredible amount during these past few weeks, but you still aren't showing too much yet.
Fetus in pregnancy week 10
Click for a bigger movie of this busy boyThis week is somewhat of a landmark for your developing baby. By now, your baby's complete body plan is laid down. Your baby will continue to develop and grow for the remainder of the pregnancy. The fingers and toes have separated and the tail has disappeared now. Your baby has taste and tooth buds at this point, which will continue to develop. The brain will continue to grow at an amazing rate and nearly a quarter of a million new neurons are produced every minute! The embryonic heart is completely developed. External genitalia are not apparent until next week, but a male's testes will already be producing testosterone. Because you have high hormone levels at this time, you may notice an abundance of emotional and physical effects. Most pregnant women find themselves getting distressed easily and have frequent mood swings. Common physical changes include the beginning of real weight gain, potential softening of the gums and slightly swollen thyroid glands. Common emotional changes include feelings of unattractiveness, feelings of inadequacy and concerns about what the future holds. Some women are not excited about their pregnancy at first and question the condition. It is not uncommon to get upset easily, cry at the slightest things, feel moody or drift on daydreams. You may have gained a little weight already. Average weight gain during pregnancy is about 28lbs(13kgs), but most of that is gained in the second and third trimester.

Updates....

Mommy:::: Went to the doctor this week, and everything looks good! The heartbeat looked great and doc said it is very promising. =) I will be 10 weeks tomorrow and it is already going by so fast. They took some bloodwork so we should get that back on our next appt, which is scheduled for February 20th. Doc said we will be keeping a close eye on my blood pressure and protein count to try to prevent any replays of the last two pregnancies. I am taking a baby aspirin everyday as well to help try to prevent the pre-eclampsia and PIH from resurfacing. He said it could or couldn't happen again, its different with every pregnancy. So, we are hoping that all though I had it with the first two, this one will be different. Here's to a happy healthy pregnancy!

Keagan:::: Keagan had her 1 year check up finally! With her double ear infection they decided to put it off a little bit. She is growing like a weed. She weighed in at 20 pounds 1 ounce! We finally broke the 20 pound mark!!! Woooohooooo! And she was 30 inches long. =) Doctor was very impressed with her and said she has surpassed a few of her milestones and gone to the next level. My little over achiever. =) She has still been pulling at one ear, so I had him check her ears....and well, she still has an infection in one ear. Booooo.=( So, we are on a new medicine, depax, and hopefully that will do the trick this time. We go back on Feb. 5th for a follow up!!

Farren:::: Farren is doing really well in Basketball, we have our 3rd game this Saturday at 11. She is also going to the rodeo and went shopping last night for new "rodeo" clothes. She got a very nice *expensive* hat, some wrangler jeans, new boots (these are really cool, mom might have to borrow them), and a pretty blue shirt! Her favorite color. I can't wait to get pics of this and show you guys how cute she looks!!

Hope everyone is having a great week!

A day at the park....

Since you never know how Texas weather is going to be, we decided we should take advantage of the nice weather on Sunday. We took the girls to the park and we had such a good time! This was Keagan's first trip to the park and she absolutely loved the swings. She cried when we would take her out of them. Well, until she found the rocks on the ground, then that became her new fav! Farren's favorite was and always has been the swings. She likes to see how high she can get going! I took my new camera, but when I got ready to take a pic....the flippin battery was dead. Good thing mommy always carries a back up. =)

9 weeks...

Your new resident is nearly an inch long — about the size of a grape — and weighs just a fraction of an ounce. She's starting to look more and more human. Her essential body parts are accounted for, though they'll go through plenty of fine-tuning in the coming months. Other changes abound: Your baby's heart finishes dividing into four chambers, and the valves start to form — as do her tiny teeth. The embryonic "tail" is completely gone. Your baby's organs, muscles, and nerves are kicking into gear. The external sex organs are there but won't be distinguishable as male or female for another few weeks. Her eyes are fully formed, but her eyelids are fused shut and won't open until 27 weeks. She has tiny earlobes, and her mouth, nose, and nostrils are more distinct. The placenta is developed enough now to take over most of the critical job of producing hormones. Now that your baby's basic physiology is in place, she's poised for rapid weight gain.
I'm feeling much better, just waiting for my appointment on Tuesday. I spent the whole day today packing stuff up and got alot accomplished. Farren had her second basketball game today...they lost this one. Booooooo....
We have our walk through on our house on Wednesday and then we close the following week on Thursday...and let me just tell you we are soooooooo ready.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

8 weeks...

By the end of your second month of pregnancy, your baby is about the size of a pinto bean and is approximately 14 to 20 mm long. If this is your first pregnancy, you still probably will not be showing yet. However, if this is not your first pregnancy you might be able to tell that you are pregnant. You will notice a slight change in how your clothes fit and your doctor can tell that your uterus is larger than normal. Before you were pregnant, your uterus was about the size of your fist. However, by 6 weeks of pregnancy, your uterus has grown to the size of a grapefruit! Your baby is developing at an amazing rate during these early weeks. Eyelid folds and ears are forming. Your baby's eyes are still very wide apart on the sides of her head, but will eventually center themselves out. The tip of the nose is actually present at this time as well. On ultrasound you can see that the aortic and pulmonary valves of the heart are present. The tubes that lead from the throat to lungs are branching and your baby's torso is getting longer and beginning to straighten out. Just a few weeks ago, your baby's arms were tiny buds. Now the elbows are actually present and the arms and legs extend forward and have grown longer. Fingers and toes are becoming visible also. One of the symptoms that you might feel around this time of your pregnancy is cramping or pain in your lower abdomen or side as your uterus grows. Some pregnant women feel tightening or contractions of the uterus. Do not get alarmed if you do not feel this though. If tightening of the uterus or contractions is accompanied by bleeding, you should contact your healthcare provider immediately. Many pregnant women also experience an occasional pain that begins in their buttocks and radiates down their back or legs. This is known as sciatic nerve pain and can be extremely painful at times. More than likely the pain is caused by the pressure on the nerve and it is best to lie on the opposite side to relieve the pressure. The tiny person is protected by the amniotic sac, filled with fluid. Inside, the child swims and moves gracefully. The arms and legs have lengthened, and fingers can be seen. The toes will develop in the next few days. The umbilical cord contains 3 blood vessels which link your baby's system to yours. The big one supplies your baby with blood which is rich in oxygen. The two smaller blood vessels return blood to the placenta. This blood is low in oxygen, and full of waste materials. At birth, umbilical cord can be two to four feet long.
I'm feeling pretty good. Haven't been sick for a few days, so i'm really excited about that. I am just really waiting for my first appt for them to confirm my due date. I am craving cereal all the time. Thats all I really want to eat. =)

Updates....

Farren-Her first basketball game is this Saturday. We have only had two practices, but will have one before....so I am a little nervous. They will be fine though, I know it. She is really enjoying playing though. Hopefully, this will get her prepped and ready for basketball next year at school. I went and ate lunch with her today, Arby's....yumyum yum....and let her come home early with me. =) Because of a dentist appt...wink wink. =)
Keagan- Well, the little stinker has her first ear infections. Yes....thats plural. Both of them are "nasty" infected according to her doctor. I have been so lucky thus far, and she has only been sick one time. But she just wasn't her self this weekend andstarted coming down with a fever and cold syptoms. So, come monday...we wereoff to the doctor. And with 101 fever in tow....she has a double ear infection. Ewwww....it brings back memories of Farren's ear infections. We got an antibioticand hopefully we are off to healthier days. Today is day four of antibiotics, and I
am actually able to see a change in her. For last four days, she has wanted to stay in my lap, but she is playing and laughing today. Yay medicine!! Oh and at herappt....the little stinker weighed 19 pounds and 2 ounces!!
Mommy- I'm feeling pretty good for the most part. Lots of nasuea waves....lots. Different foods seems to make me sick to stomach. Not so much morning sickness, as it seems to happen around dinner time mostly. And I'm pretty tired. But, withtwo kids, a husband, three dogs, working with my mom, and regular house duties. There isn't much time for being tired. =) I have my first appt on the 2oth, and I am really excited to go. I will be almost 10 weeks when I go.
Daddy- Daddy is doing good. He is working alot and playing when at home. He really trys to help
with Farren and Keagan as much as possible to let me rest. What a sweet daddy! He did say he is already ready for the baby to be here!! Crazy guy....We just foundout a few weeks ago!
HOUSE- One of the most important updates. We went by today and the yard, fence, and tree's are done! Yayyyy!! And they were putting in the carpet!!! The only thing left is to await the delivery of the appliances. Wow, I can't believe its almost time. We should have our walk through around the 21st and then we are scheduled to close on the 29th. I sooooooo can't flippin wait to move. We are starting to pack our house up this week so that we can be ready to just load up and go. I can't wait! Anyway, here are a couple pics of the yard!!

On another note....
Happy New Year to everyone!!
This week has been really fun and interesting. Farren has been out of town with her family in San Saba since Sunday, so we have definitely been missing her. Keagan found a magnet picture of her on the fridge and she has been carrying it around with her, its soooooo cute!! She really misses her. But so do I. It feels like she has been gone forever. I am going to get her today, so we can't wait!!
Update: I have decided to go ahead and get rid of Keagan's bottles, she hasn't been on them very long, only about a month or so, but I don't want her to get to attached to them. I hate when I see kids who are like 3 running around with bottles. Anywho, my original goal was to be gone with them by her first birthday. Well, I'm four days late so shoot me. =)
Anyway, she is such a good baby. She has taken to her sippy cups only very well. No problem, no fuss, no nothing. Just like she did when I quit brestfeeding. What an angel baby. =)
I love my girls!!
