Baby D update...

Deakon had his surgery on his ear on thursday. We had to be at the hospital at 8:30, and surgery was scheduled for 10. We ran into Miss Vanessa on our way up, what a nice suprise! Deakon wasn't allowed to have any milk after 2:30, and he actually tolerated this pretty well. He fussed a couple of times throughout the morning and "attacked" his paci as if it were going to give him something out of the nipple. But, as long as we kept him occupied, he seemed ok. The surgery before us ran a little late, so they did take D back until about 11. They gave him a banana flavored gas mask to knock him out, hooked his iv up, and then were able to start surgery. After the surgery was done, we had to wait for him to wake up to be able to see him. He did really well! He woke up and sucked down 6 ounces of apple juice watered down. Poor baby was starving! We only had to wait about 20 minutes to be able to leave after that, because the nurse said he was doing so well and met all the criteria for leaving. Good job baby D! He got 7 little stitches, that are dissolvable, so we won't have to have them taken out. He ended up taking a really long nap after we left the hospital. He woke up and we were able to feed him some half-strength formula to make sure his tummy could tolerate it from the anesthesia. He did wonderfully and sucked down a second bottle at normal strength. Anyway, his stitches look really good and I am pleased with the job the surgeon did. We go back to see his plastic surgeon for a follow up on tuesday.

Friday, my poor baby had to go in to see his regular doctor for his 6 month shots!! Alot in two days I know! But, he was already behind and I didn't want to wait any longer. Plus, I asked both doctors before hand when I realized how close they were scheduled and they said it would be fine. Why were we so late? Well, he had an ear infection at 6 months, so they couldn't do them then. Then when we went back to have them done, ALL of the immunizations were lost in the snow storm. They lost electricity in the office, and the immunizations went without being refrigerated for too long. So, friday is when we were scheduled to go back. His legs were REALLY sore from these shots. He could not jump without crying, and screamed bloody murder any time I tried to massage his little legs. I felt so bad! But, tylenol and motrin seemed to help and he was back to normal saturday morning!!

My poor baby has been throught so much in the last few days! Hopefully he will get a break for a little while!



SIDE NOTE: Baby D is rocking on all fours and scooting around! I am just patiently waiting for him to start "real" crawling!

We have a pretty busy weekend planned this weekend. Last night was movie night and we watched 3 movies, I absolutely love fridays like this. Just sitting curled up on the couch with my family and watching a good flick, and even some popcorn when I'm lucky. =) Today, however, I am going garage saling for a bit, to the mall, and then I need to meet granny in weatherford to drop of the kiddos with her, because we are going to MONSTERJAM tonight!!! I am so excited about going to this. For one, its in the new stadium, so we will get to check that out. For two, I've always wanted to go to one of these. I have seen the commercials on tv for years, just haven't yet had the opportunity of going. Hopefully, it will be a good show! We have a couple friends and Farren are going with us. I'm soooo glad she is getting old enough to be able to do fun things like this with us. Sunday, I have my Erin's baby shower, assuming that she does have baby Rhett before then! I have dibs she will have him during the shower. =) But hopefully not. Anyway, it should be interesting weekend!

12 weeks...

My little guy is already almost 3 months old??? Where has the time even gone....gosh. He is getting bigger every day. We broke out the bumbo and he absolutely loves it. He loves to be in an upright position, so this allows that with mommy or daddy having to stand him up all the time. He loves standing on our bellies and just being up and able to see everything. We are getting lots of cooing and talking these days, and lots and lots of smiles! He has also started blowing bubbles! One of my favorite parts! For some reason, the last 3 nights, he is getting up every 2-3 hours, mommy can't wait for that to be over with! We may have to try some cereal soon!! He is such a little pleasure, we are so thankful to have him!

11 weeks....

Bad mommy, I missed 10 weeks. I've have just been so damn busy. Seriously. But on to 11 weeks we go. I can't believe Deakon is almost 3 months old. It is really going by so fast. He is such a little angel and growing so fast. We are trying to go through two outfits a day because we have so many clothes that he has not yet worn and needs to before he grows out of them. He is starting to coo this week along with lots and lots of smiles. He really loves looking and smiling at his daddy. And loves getting his kisses from his sister. He has a little cough this week, so we are trying to get rid of that. Poor baby. =( But other than that, he is flourishing! Not to mention he is such a little cutie!!!

20 months.....

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.....my middle baby is 20 months old. I can't believe we are closer to 2 than 1. It is ABSOLUTELY crazy to think she is going to be 2 soon. What a big girl. We are still working with the potty. We are hoping to be fully in panties by her birthday. I took her to pic some out and she wanted the boys "Cars" underwear. =) It was really cute. She is such a ham. She is talking up a storm these days. Some of her new words are no, yes, bite, grape, bubba, more, cheese, and some others I can't think of right now. She is into everything, and I mean everything. She is such a good helper with her "bubba", as soon as she hears him cry she brings me a diaper and wipe. She believes this is the fix to his noise. We are really having to watch her with bathtime, once we start running the water she is climbing in, diaper and all. =) Her favorite thing to do right now is say cheese and smile for the camera. So, I thought I would post a few pics of that. Enjoy!

Happy 20 months stinker!!

Already 1 week...

I can't believe its already been a week. I think it went by alot faster because we were in the hospital for 4 days. =) Oh well....we are loving having our little man at home. Farren is actually super excited that she has a brother and was ready to hold him as soon as we got home. It was really cute! Keagan thinks he is the funniest thing in the world. Somehow, she understands at 19 months that he is something that needs to be handled with care. She is so gentle with him and loves to give him hugs and kisses. It is so sweet! And well....Mommy and Daddy couldn't be happier to have this little man added to our family! Deakon is doing really well, he is starting to get the hang of nursing, and we have successfully made it through 3 feedings on breast alone. He is still pretty small so it seems to be a struggle, but he is getting stronger and better. I am still pumping though, so Chris is able to feed him and bond with him as well. He is such a good baby so far. He eats and sleeps and eats and sleeps some more. We are stringing together about 3 hours of sleep at a time. Not bad....he loves to cuddle and swaddled. And he loves loves loves to be on your chest with some skin on skin contact!!

36 weeks....

How your baby's growing:Your baby is still packing on the pounds — at the rate of about an ounce a day. She now weighs almost 6 pounds (like a crenshaw melon) and is more than 18 1/2 inches long. She's shedding most of the downy covering of hair that covered her body as well as the vernix caseosa, the waxy substance that covered and protected her skin during her nine-month amniotic bath. Your baby swallows both of these substances, along with other secretions, resulting in a blackish mixture, called meconium, will form the contents of her first bowel movement.At the end of this week, your baby will be considered full-term. (Full-term is 37 to 42 weeks; babies born before 37 weeks are pre-term and those born after 42 are post-term.) Most likely she's in a head-down position. But if she isn't, your practitioner may suggest scheduling an "external cephalic version," which is a fancy way of saying she'll try to coax your baby into a head-down position by manipulating her from the outside of your belly.

Update: I'm still pregnant...yay! I had my three appointments this week, and didn't find out much. Just that my bp is still on the rise and staying high. Which is expected the further along I get. We should find out something tuesday on exactly when we should be delivering. The doctor did say he feels comfortable delivering me at this point. So, I'm very happy about that. We are a little more than a week away from meeting our little bundle, and I CANNOT wait. The anxiety has set in and I am having a hard time sleeping anticipating it. Hopefully, the next week will go by fairly quick. I have some new sono and 3d pics from our last appt I need to get uploaded. So, I will aim to do that Monday. =)

35 weeks...by my count. =)

Your baby doesn't have much room to maneuver now that he's over 18 inches long and tips the scales at 5 1/4 pounds (pick up a honeydew melon). Because it's so snug in your womb, he isn't likely to be doing somersaults anymore, but the number of times he kicks should remain about the same. His kidneys are fully developed now, and his liver can process some waste products. Most of his basic physical development is now complete — he'll spend the next few weeks putting on weight.

Update: Still hanging in there. I had measurements done at one of my sonograms this week and our little stinker is weighing in about 5 pounds 5 ounces. A little smaller than she was hoping for but still good. My specialist said that with my blood pressure staying high like it is it is constricting some blood flow, not allowing him to grow as much. So, they are going to do measurements again at one of my sono's next week, instead of just the biophysical sono. Hopefully, the sono tech was just off a little. They normally only measure every two weeks, to allow for growth. So, who knows. If we stay with the August 3rd date, we only have 16 days left! Woohoo! Luckily, I'm still feeling pretty good. I have been having some braxton hicks, but nothing painful. So, we have our normal doctor appt tuesday, specialist and sono tuesday, and the specialist and sono friday. Almost done with going to the doctor 3 times a week!!

33 weeks....

How your baby's growing:This week your baby weighs a little over 4 pounds (heft a pineapple) and has passed the 17-inch mark. He's rapidly losing that wrinkled, alien look and his skeleton is hardening. The bones in his skull aren't fused together, which allows them to move and slightly overlap, thus making it easier for him to fit through the birth canal. (The pressure on the head during birth is so intense that many babies are born with a conehead-like appearance.) These bones don't entirely fuse until early adulthood, so they can grow as his brain and other tissue expands during infancy and childhood.

Update: My doctors appointments went pretty good this week. My bp was a little up on tuesday, 150/100, so they upped my dosage to the final dose, and it was good when I went in on thursday, 130/88. We are almost at the 34 week mark, and my regular doctor wants to try to push it as close to the 37 as possible. But, he said if I come in next week and my bp is high, he will deliver me then. So, anytime between now and 4 weeks. Not much longer at all. I can't believe we are already on the countdown. I am feeling pretty good since they gave me medicine for the headaches. Oh Oh....and my one of my sono's this week showed that he is about 4 pounds 11 ounces!! What a whopper!! And in both sono's this week he was practicing his breathing like crazy! So, we know the steriod shots have helped!!

Anyway, I hope everyone has a wonderful 4th of july!

32 weeks....

Only a few weeks to go and you're probably counting down the days! No wonder, with all the aches and pains throughout your body. But along with a sore back and swollen ankles, you may notice less painful signs that delivery day is around the corner. A whitish to clear fluid may leak out of your breasts. This foremilk, called colostrum, will sustain your baby for the first few days of his life if you choose to breastfeed. You may also have a whitish, vaginal discharge called leukorrhea. This is normal throughout pregnancy and will increase as you approach delivery.

Update: Doing good still. I go back for my appointments this week on Tuesday morning, Tuesday afternoon, and Thursday due to the holiday. Hopefully, everything will be good and we can push it another week. I have been having some horrible headaches from the medicine I am on. Nothing like I have ever felt before. So, I have a NEW medicine to help with those. I feel like I need a pill organizer. =) We started hanging everything on Deakons side of the room and are getting his bed ready. Its looking really cute. I don't think Keagan has realized yet that she is sharing her room. I don't think she will mind though. =)

Keagan is doing awesome! She is running everywhere, playing, and talking up a storm. Some of which we can make out and some that we have no clue what it is. She is so stinkin cute though! And really funny to watch. Farren is doing awesome as well. She is on summer vacation and has been such a big help for me. She does anything and everything I need her to do during the day so that I don't have to get on my feet much. I can't imagine having Keagan and being on bedrest without Farren here to help. Keagan is really loving her sissy though and they seem to really be bonding because of it. When Farren is gone, Keagan likes to point to her picture and say "hissy"! Its so cute!! Anyway, hope everyone is having a great week!

Doctor Update....

We had two appointments on Tuesday and one today. The first appointment on Tuesday went well. Blood pressure was 140/82...pretty good. They monitored the baby for about 30 minutes and he looked great. Then they did a biophysical on him and everything looked good. After that appointment I was off to see my regular doctor. By the time I got there my blood pressure was 179/92, so my nurse went and got my doctor. He came in and took it again, where it was still 170/90....still high...damn. He was ready to send me back to the hospital, when I kindly reminded him that I had been up and on my feet for about 3 hours that morning and I'm certain thats why it was elevated. He smiled and told me to lay on my side for a few minutes. Then took my pressure again and it was 152/92. So better...he decided to let me go home since I was going back to see the specialist on thursday. He advised that I should talk to her about steriod shots and that he could deliver me any day now at this rate. So, on to Thursday. I went back this afternoon, and blood pressure was 142/94. Not bad, but slowly going up everytime I go in Dr. Papa said. So, she suggested I get my first steriod shot. Right in the hip!! Ouuccchhh!! I go back in tomorrow for my second. They did measure him today in the sono instead of just doing a bio physical and he weighed in at 3 pounds 10 ounces! She said she is hoping to wait until 34 weeks, but doesn't feel comfortable that I will make it, hence the steriod shots. We go back to see both on Tuesday. So, keep your fingers crossed this little stinker stays in longer!!!

30 weeks....

Your baby's about 15.7 inches long now, and she weighs almost 3 pounds (like a head of cabbage). A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds her, but that volume will decrease as she gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus. Her eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after she's born, she'll keep her eyes closed for a good part of the day. When she does open them, she'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means she can only make out objects a few inches from her face. How your life's changing:You may be feeling a little tired these days, especially if you're having trouble sleeping. You might also feel clumsier than normal, which is perfectly understandable. Update: We are doing pretty good. I went to my doctor on Tuesday, and we are moving along. My blood pressure was up a little but he wanted me to see the specialist on Wednesday and see what she said. So, wednesday morning we had our appointment with the specialist. It was up a little bit again, but not as bad. However, she said the medicine should be helping more than it is. So, if it gets worse in the next couple of weeks, or I have to be put back in the hospital, then we are going to start steriod shots to help the babys lungs develop. Hopefully, we won't have to do this. I don't want to have him to early where he has to stay at the hospital and I go home. So, our goal is still to get to 34 weeks, and then if we make it there we will aim for 37 weeks. I will be going to see my doctor every tuesday, and then see the specialist twice a week on tuesdays and fridays so she can keep a close eye on things. So, if you need to find me, I will probably be at the doctors office. =)

My stinker is 17 months old. Already. Wow. I can't believe how much time has past since I first held her. She is growing like a weed mentally and physically. We went back to the doctor today for a check up to make sure her ear infection was gone and she weighed 21 pounds and was 30 1/2 inches tall! She is big and little all at the same time. Her new favorite breakfast food is oatmeal, but she still loves waffles, cereal, toast, bagels, eggs, and pop tarts too. She really really likes chicken, diced up carrots, corn, peas, noodles, spaghetti, ramen noodles, hamburger helper, potatoes, and mac and cheese for dinner time. Her new favorite word is "thank you" and I could listen to her say this all day long. She says it when she hands you something or when somethign is done for her or she does something for you. It is the cutest thing in the world! Some of her other favorite words are ming ming, duck, oh yeah, yes, no, bye bye, momma, dada, meme, drink, bite, night night, tee tee, and uh uh. She is so funny and sweet all the at the same time. She can sign and tell you what she wants or show you if she needs to. She understands small commands and will retrieve items you ask her to get. She now has two blankies....hers and one that was suppose to be for her brother. But, she has taken it over. =) She loves Finding Nemo, and Monstes Inc., and could watch them all day over and over. She loves bath time and takes them by herself, with mommy, and with daddy. We catch her climbing in the tub every time we get ready to take a shower. She loves to have her toenails painted. They are blue with white flowers right now....just like mommys. She goes to bed on her own and chooses if she wants mommy or daddy to put her to bed at night. She is sleeping about 11 hours at night and about 2 1/2 hours during the day. She loves to cheese for the camera....hence, the last picture. She loves to help with laundry, and will pull things out for me one at a time. I could ramble on forever...so I will just say that she is sucha a good baby and so much fun and joy to be around. We love you little stinker!!
